Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

To provide the Service, we collect the following:

• Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
• Profile information — profile photos, birthdate (used to display your age), skill/DUPR level, play style, favorite shot, home courts, dominant hand, what you're open to (including whether you're open to dating), and optional lifestyle details you choose to add (such as height, drinking, smoking, pets, family plans, education, zodiac, religion, and politics).
• Location information — the geographic coordinates you provide for your area, stored to match you with players nearby and to power distance filters and check-ins.
• Messages & content — direct messages you send to other members, and the posts, polls, replies, crews, play invites, and court check-ins you create.
• Usage & engagement data — when you open and use the app, your last-active time, and in-app activity used to power features and presence indicators.
• Login & device records — records of your logins, including timestamp, IP address, and browser/user-agent, retained for account security and abuse prevention.
• Push notification data — if you enable push notifications, the subscription details (endpoint and keys) your browser provides so we can deliver them.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and profile.
• To match you with other players by skill, location, and preferences, and to compute compatibility scores.
• To enable messaging, matches, crews, polls, play invites, and community features.
• To send notifications you've opted into (matches, messages, RSVP reminders, and recaps) by email and web push.
• To keep the community safe — reviewing reports, enforcing our Terms, and preventing abuse.
• To maintain security, including detecting suspicious logins using login and device records.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.

3. What other members can see

Your profile — including your photos, first name, age, skill level, and the details you add — is visible to other members as part of the matching experience, and your court check-ins are visible to other members while active. Please only share what you're comfortable with others seeing. Your email address, password, exact coordinates, and login/device records are never shown to other members.

4. Location & check-ins

We use the location coordinates associated with your profile to show you nearby players and to apply your search-distance settings. We do not continuously track your device's real-time GPS in the background. You can enable “play anywhere” mode or adjust your search radius in your profile settings. Court check-ins are short-lived and expire automatically.

5. Cookies & similar technologies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and to operate the Service securely. We also use your browser's local and session storage to remember preferences (such as filters and dismissed prompts). We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.

6. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their function:

• Database & hosting — our cloud database and application hosting providers store your account, profile, and content data.
• Photo storage — profile and shared photos are stored in private cloud file storage and served through access-controlled links.
• Email delivery — a transactional email provider sends account, notification, and password-reset emails.
• Web push delivery — when you enable push, your browser's push service delivers the notifications.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our members and the community.

7. Your choices

• Edit or remove your profile details and photos at any time.
• Control which email and push notifications you receive from your profile settings.
• Turn push notifications off in the app or in your browser settings.
• Block or report members you don't want to interact with.
• Delete your account, which removes your profile and associated personal data from the Service.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Much of this is available directly in the app — you can view and edit your profile and delete your account at any time. To make any other request, contact us at the address below and we will respond as required by applicable law. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and associated personal data, except where we need to retain limited information — such as login and safety records or content already shared with others — for legal, safety, or security reasons.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including secure password hashing, access-controlled photo storage, and encrypted connections. No system is ever 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Meet For Dinks is only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to notify you and will update the “last updated” date above.
